Ocean Guardians – Diving for the Ocean – A 5-Day Conservation & Scuba Camp

Ocean Guardians is a five-day immersive camp for young people who want to go beyond the surface—learning to dive safely while developing a real, grounded relationship with the ocean and its living systems.

Set in the rich marine environments of southern Thailand, this camp combines Discover Scuba Diving (DSD), a standardised PADI programme, hands-on marine ecology, and conservation action. Participants don’t just learn how to dive—they learn why the ocean matters, how human choices affect it, and what it means to become a responsible guardian of the blue.

This is a serious, inspiring entry point into ocean stewardship.

What Makes Ocean Guardians Different

Ocean Guardians is designed for young people who are curious, capable, and ready to be trusted with real responsibility.

Over the course of the week, participants:

  • reflect on their role in protecting ocean life
  • train with our partner certified instructors in safe, supervised conditions
  • explore coral reefs, seagrass meadows, and coastal ecosystems
  • learn marine ecology through direct observation, not lectures
  • take part in conservation and restoration activities

The 5-Day Experience
The week unfolds as a carefully sequenced journey:

  • Early days focus on water confidence, snorkelling, marine awareness, and dive theory
  • Mid-week, participants complete their Discover Scuba training dives with professional instructors
  • Later days deepen understanding through reef exploration, conservation action, and reflection

Alongside diving, young people engage in:

  • coral and reef health observation
  • discussions on marine threats and protection
  • beach and ocean stewardship practices
  • journaling, group reflection, and integration

Safety, Supervision & Care

Safety is foundational to Ocean Guardians.

  • Group sizes are kept small and supervision ratios are high
  • Equipment is professionally maintained
  • Weather, sea conditions, and participant readiness are continuously assessed
  • Non-diving marine activities are adapted if conditions change

Emotional wellbeing matters too. Facilitators are attentive, present, and experienced in working with adolescents in challenging and inspiring environments.

Who This Camp Is For

Ocean Guardians is for young people aged who:

  • are curious about the ocean and marine life
  • want to learn real skills, not just observe
  • are ready to be part of a group and follow safety protocols
  • enjoy being active, outdoors, and challenged

No previous diving experience or even swim experience is required.

  • a foundation for future PADI certification
  • increased confidence in the water
  • a practical understanding of marine ecosystems
