THE OCEAN GUARDIANS – Diving for ocean conservation camp
Theme: “From Curiosity to Stewardship — Becoming Protectors of the Blue Planet”
Duration: 5 Days (22-26 December)
Ages: 10–17 (split during Days 3–5 into Freedivers and Scuba Trainees)
Location: Spirit Mountain • Nong Talay Lagoon • Ao Nang Coastline • Islands of Krabi
Swap screens for the sea. Ocean Guardians Camp blends reef adventures, hands‑on science, and mindful water skills so young people grow brave, curious, and ocean‑kind. Campers explore coral habitats, practice teamwork, and take part in citizen conservation—returning home with practical skills and a personal Ocean Guardian pledge.

Who this camp is for
- Ocean‑curious youth who want real experience in the water
- Beginners and confident swimmers (we build water confidence from Day 1)
- Families who value safety, learning, and meaningful stewardship—not just sightseeing
What campers will do
- Snorkel & explore: coral and fish ID, tide‑pool walks, reef etiquette
- Marine science labs: plankton microscopy, salinity tests, food webs
- Choose a track (from Day 3): basic freediving or intro scuba with partner instructors
- Conservation in action: citizen science cleanups, seagrass surveys, reef‑care activities
- Create & reflect: ocean journaling, upcycled art, pledge ceremony
Outcome: stronger water confidence, teamwork, practical ocean skills, and a deeper bond with the blue.
The 5‑day journey
Day 1 — The call of the ocean
Opening circle, gear fit, water confidence session at Nong Talay, ocean safety basics.
Day 2 — The web of life
Coral reef ecology, fish ID, plankton lab, beach exploration and cleanup.
Day 3 — Breath & depth
Group breathwork, rescue games; split into Freediver or Scuba trainee tracks.
Day 4 — Guardians in action
Island day: guided reef exploration (freedivers) and two intro dives (scuba). Stewardship talk and reef‑care.
Day 5 — Protectors of the blue
Mini research challenge, art + pledge, family showcase, certificate ceremony.

Freediver (10+)
Breath‑hold games, buddying, finning, duck dives, equalization—shallow, supervised sites.
Scuba trainee (12+)
Intro theory, pool drills, and guided open‑water dives with partner instructors. Optional certification pathway available.
All in‑water activities follow strict safety briefings, supervision ratios, and weather checks.

Daily schedule at a glance
Day Camp: 9:15 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Overnight Camp: 5 days and 5 nights with guided reflection and campfire storytelling

Parent FAQs
Does my teen need to be a strong swimmer?
No. We build confidence from Day 1 with flotation aids, shallow practice, and close supervision.
Is scuba certification included?
Certification is optional and can be arranged as an add‑on through our partner dive school.
What happens in rough weather?
We adjust plans using safe sites or indoor science/art modules. Safety and learning come first.
Can siblings or friends join together?
Yes—let us know during registration and we’ll do our best to group them appropriately.
