ECOLOGICAL HEARTS – Ecology & biodiversity conservation camp

ABOUT THE CAMP

In line with NatureMind-ED’s vision of connecting people and nature we offer an immersive 5-days experience combining hands-on exploration of local marine, coastal and terrestrial ecosystems, conservation in action and citizen science, sustainable living and circularity.

This camp is ideal for 7-13 years old children with taste for nature discovery and conscious fun with similarly minded friends. We can also accommodate younger participants (4-7 years old) and older participatns (13-15 years old) with specific age adapted variations of the activities.

ACTIVITY PLAN & OBJECTIVES

Each day starts at 9:30 with brief team building games and introduction to the day’s theme. The daily activities are done over two sessions of two hours
with lunch break in between. Each day ends at 15:30 after a healthy snack, except on Friday, the last day of camp, which will continue through the evening with activities around the camp fire and overnight camping. Each theme (see specific itinerary below) complement each other with regards to the skills cultivated and experiences crafted towards achieving the following goals:

• Developing a sense of awe for the myriad of living being
  and their unique features and skills
• Developing a more holistic mind through learning about
  synergies and interactions
• Cultivating a greater sense of belonging to Nature
• Strengthening observation skills, appreciating natural
  rythms and patterns
• Contribute to real life biodiversity conservation projects
  and learn the science of ecology
• Enjoy a fun and memorable winter break experience
